Disposable nebulizer medication cups should be replaced about every two weeks for maximum performance. Using a disposable nebulizer medication cup for an extended length of time will cause your treatment time to increase, and the particle size will increase which results in less therapeutic value.

A recent study compared the performance of 17 nebulizers with regard to unusable volume, time, MMAD, percent of aerosol mass in the respirable range, etc.
